Our experience allows you to ditch Google maps and Yelp reviews to feel less like a tourist and more like an explorer. Our hikes visit gorgeous beaches and sweeping landscapes across the island, stopping throughout to check out the small towns that are the heart of the island. Plus, our itinerary is carefully crafted so you can skip the planning and booking headache, ignore the niggly things and enjoy the natural ones. We have everything taken care of including transportation, accommodation, breakfasts and one BBQ dinner so kick back while we take the reins and get you off the beaten path. We provide the option to customize your experience with activities like whale watching and surf lessons. Going on a trip is a chance to connect with people from all over the world, and we think that’s pretty special, so we keep our group sizes to a max of 12 guests. The tone is always upbeat and personable, making for a great atmosphere for both groups and lone rangers!

Itinerary
Day 1: South Island to Ucluelet
Stop At: Old Country Market – Goats on Roof, 2326 Alberni Highway, Coombs, British Columbia V0R 1M0 Canada
Our exciting first day visits the Southern and Central Regions of Vancouver Island, including a short hike to a spectacular waterfall, the Cowichan Valley, and the eclectic Old Coombs Market famous for the goats that live on the roof (yes, you read that right), where we’ll stop for lunch.
In the evening we arrive in Ucluelet, a small fishing town perched on the dramatic landscape of the island’s west coast. You’ll have free time here to explore this small town’s stunning ocean views and grab dinner. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a wave from a sea lion in the bay.

Day 2: Tofino & Pacific Rim National Park
Stop At: Pacific Rim National Park, Tofino, British Columbia V0R 3A0 Canada
Wake up to a hot breakfast at our campsite before we head out for the day to explore the islands dreamiest region. Thrill seekers and beach bums alike are in their element when visiting the Pacific Rim National Park. The area is Canada’s surf capital and world famous for its breathtaking beaches. Inland you’ll find lush rainforests easily accessible through the region’s many hiking trails.
We’ll spend most of the day strolling the beaches and exploring the trails mentioned above, stopping for lunch and some free time in Tofino, the island’s most beloved west coast town. Tofino has a magical presence and is a hub for art exhibits and museums showcasing the history of the Nuu-chah-nulth People who have occupied the area for thousands of years.

Day 3: Day 3 – Free Time & Lakeside Camping
Stop At: MacMillan Provincial Park, Alberni Highway 4, Port Alberni, British Columbia Canada
There is so much to see and do around the Pacific Rim region, one day is simply not enough. This morning is for you to customize whether you’d like to spend more time at the beach, check out the Ucluelet Aquarium or book an activity such as whale watching or surf lessons conveniently offered through our campsite. There are countless ways to spend the day and your guide will have plenty of suggestions to help you make the most of it. Please note that activities such as whale watching offered through independent companies fill up quickly so it is best to book in advance to guarantee your spot.
In the afternoon we head east, stopping to explore an old growth forest before we arrive at a Central Island lake to set up camp for the night. We’ll cook up a barbecue, take a dip in the lake, play some games, crack a beer and enjoy our last night together!

Day 4: Day 4 – Port Renfrew & the Southwest Coast
Stop At: Juan de Fuca Provincial Park, British Columbia Canada
For our final day we head through the island’s Central Region stopping in the charming town of Ladysmith before continuing out to the southwest coast. We’ll stop on our way to admire one of the areas largest spruce trees, for a dip at a stunning swimming hole (weather pending) and break for lunch in Port Renfrew.
In the afternoon we’ll stop for a final hike down through a mossy forest, part of the Juan de Fuca Trail to a gorgeous, secluded beach. Take in the scenery as this is our last stop before driving down the windy coastline arriving back in Victoria BC.
