To keep his customers entertained while they waited, a lively gambling den and brothel were added to the mix, earning the nickname “Dirty Laundry.” Fast forward to the early 2000s, when Bob Campbell and his partners took over the winery, turning a dream into a reality. Over a century ago, in 1895, George Greata had a wild dream and a pack mule. He saw the perfect spot for a fruit orchard, perched on a bench above a lake—but there was one big problem: no water! Not one to back down, George decided to build a five-mile wooden flume in 1900 to bring water from a nearby creek. Talk about determination! Thanks to that flume, the orchard bloomed in 1901, and the rest is delicious history. Cheers to George and his vision, making this land thrive for over 100 years! The winery’s unique gravity-fed system keeps the juice flowing smoothly from crush pad to cellar—no pumps needed!

With 18.5 acres across three vineyards, Thornhaven grows a variety of grapes like Pinot Noir, Merlot, Riesling, and more, using both French and American oak barrels to please every palate. Mike and Gillian Stohler kicked off SummerGate Winery in 2009 with a mission to create premium wines from their estate-grown grapes. From day one, they’ve embraced natural methods like reduced crop yields, savvy vineyard management, and avoiding petro-chemicals to craft high-quality fruit. Their approach? Hand-harvesting and gently pressing, followed by slow fermentation in small stainless steel tanks. The result is a refreshingly crisp, fruit-forward lineup of wines, with a focus on whites, plus some delightful rosés and frizzante-style options. Zias Stonehouse Restaurant is a slice of history with a dash of mystery! Built in 1916 by Alfredo Biagioni, this stunning architectural gem took five years to complete, with walls made from Garnet Valley stones and a basement dug by hand (with help from his trusty horse, Nelly!). Locals even whisper about it being haunted! In 1997, Shannon and Claude Ferlizza transformed this historic spot into the cozy, charming Zias we know today, where old-world charm meets a worldly menu.
