We look for opportunities to descend below the ice surface using ropes and climbing equipment for those who are interested. Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Columbia Ice Field Highway Highway 1, Jasper, Jasper National Park, Alberta Canada
You will meet your guide at the Toe of the Athabasca Glacier Trailhead parking lot. Upon arrival you will be outfitted into boots and crampons. You will be gearing up and stepping onto the glacier for a 4–hour walk. While on the glacier, you will be travelling through snow, ice and navigate crevasses with an experienced ACMG certified guide. This area is rated by National Geographic as one of the most scenic places in the world. A must do! All equipment is provided, this tour does not include lunch or transportation.
