Design of a Victorian Garden. As you walk through the grounds you’ll notice the formality of design of a Victorian garden. Richard Power, a horticulturist and landscape gardener from Ireland was given the task of designing these public gardens.
Horticultural Hall. As you move on you’ll see the oldest building in the park, that was also used as a cold cellar, and across from that is the 130 year old Bandstand!
While walking along what was once a swampy wasteland, you’ll see ducks and geese and even a quiet spot to sit and learn some of the history of the pond.
Boar War Memorial Fountain. As you stroll through the park you’ll come across this memorial that was erected in 1903 to honour Canadian Soldiers who fought and died in the Boer War.
