Stephen Avenue contains a high concentration of registered historic buildings and the street itself was declared a Canadian historic site in 2002.

The four-storey Library cost CA$245 million to construct. It is truly an architectural masterpiece and we will explore! Their design features an oval-like form and an interior with a large central atrium with a skylight. The building is elevated one floor above street level to accommodate a light rail trackway below, as well as a public plaza.The entire building is oval-shaped and is elevated one floor above street level to cover a CTrain light rail tunnel and an open plaza, included with the intention of connecting Calgary’s East Village to Downtown. The entrance is framed by wood-clad arches inspired by the shape of arched clouds made by Chinook winds in Alberta.

LONG LIVE THE KING · Established in 1905, the King Edward Hotel was Calgary’s second oldest hotel and the longest-operating bar and hotel when it closed in 2004.
Well it’s open again and back in service, we will have a little peak of the place and if we are lucky we can catch a glimpse of one of Calgary’s many rockin’ bands or come back for more.
